According to details, Anti Corruption Unit had launched investigation against corruption taking place in Board of Intermediate Education Karachi. The deputy controller of examinations was taken into custody after an inquiry against him.
Ahmed has been accused of changing examination results and tampering marks obtained by the students in the exams.
Police sources said that BIEK official has been accused of changing exam results on a large scale in exchange of money. It was said that the suspect used to determine per subject cost of each department.
“Ahmed used to charge students highest for Pre-Engineering papers and get them passed using unfair means. His group also used to pass the applicants with good grades after tampering the total number of marks obtained in the examinations,” sources said.
It should be noted that Anti Corruption Unit had carried out a raid at Board of Intermediate Education Karachi 10 days ago which went on for more than 48 hours.
The entry and exit points of the board office were sealed due to which the staff was not allowed to go home after which they lodged a protest by refusing to perform their duties.
