The gunmen, reportedly belong to two rival drug gangs, were engaged in gun-fighting in Gutter Bagheecha in Pak Colony police jurisdiction. At least five persons were killed and one injured in the incident.
The incident caused fear and panic in the locality.
The police and rangers contingents reached to the area to control the situation.
The dead bodies and injured have been transferred to Civil Hospital Karachi.
In a separate incident in Altaf Nagar in Orangi Town a dead body with bullet wounds has been found. The identity of the deceased yet to be established.
