KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies arrested former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senator Faisal Raza Abidi from Karachi’s New Rizvia Society area on Saturday, ARY News reported.
According to details, Police and Rangers took the ex-PPP leader into custody after carrying out a search operation at his residence in New Rizvia Society area.
Sources said that weapons were found from Abidi’s home as well.
According to police sources, Abidi has been arrested in respect of recent firing and terrorism incidents in the city. He will also be questioned over targeted killings in Central and East districts of Karachi.
Faisal Raza Abidi will be produced before the court tomorrow.
Pasban-e-Aza has condemned Abidi’s detention and said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is taking revenge from him over leaving the party.
The law enforcement agencies have not disclosed the reason as to why he has been detained.
