The representatives of local dairy farmers, milk wholesellers and retailers in a joint meeting with the Commissioner Karachi resolved the dispute over milk price in the local market.
The sides agreed to fix per litre milk price at Rs. 80 after talks which continued for 14 hours.
The milkmen were demanding for Rs. 84 per litre price but the local officials were insisting to fix the price of the commodity at Rs. 72 per litre. After exhaustive talks the two sides agreed to consensus price at Rs. 80 per litre.
Earlier, the milk retailers had started to sell milk at inflated price of Rs. 90 per litre.
The local administration after the decision, has ordered action against the shopkeepers selling milk on the inflated price.
