Karachi Operation in best national interest, says PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the operation against terrorists and militants in Karachi initiated in the best national interest, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Talking to a delegation of members of the parliament today here prime minister said that all political parties were taken into confidence before launching the operation against criminals in the metropolis.

Sharif said that Karachi is the economic hub of the country and maintenance of peace and stability will be in the best interest of Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif said that no one have any justification for keeping illegal weapons in possession. He vowed to bring perpetrators of heinous crimes to justice.

He said that the operation initiated with the national consensus has improved the law and order situation in the city and the number of targeted killings, kidnapping for ransom, extortion and other crimes have decreased to a large extent.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that there is no place for terrorism in Pakistan. He said the country faces several challenges and all efforts will be made to overcome these challenges before the next election.
