According to sources, police released at least 47 political workers of the same party after taking bribe. The details of workers including their names, locations of arrest and bribery details have been submitted to Additional Inspector General Karachi Mushtaq Mehar.

The political party, whose name has not been disclosed, shared the details of its workers with the additional IG seeking retribution for the corrupt cops.

The party alleged the plain-clothed police personnel and counter terrorism department officials round up political workers on the pretext of terrorism charges and later demand heavy bribes for their release.

The most of the workers had been arrested from Korangi and Landhi.

The additional IF has asked DIG CIA to investigate the revelation and submit its report.
