Karachi: Police arrest protesting members of civil society
According to details, representatives of the civil society once again staged a protest demonstration outside the CM House, Karachi against terrorism in the state.
At this, police rounded up dozens of participants and locked them up in different police stations of the Clifton Town.
Those arrested also included prominent member of the civil society, Jibran Nasir.
Four of the protesters were taken to Frere police station, where a large number of civil society members have gathered and are chanting slogans against the government.
Earlier on Wednesday, civil society had ended its protest sit-in outside the CM House after successful talks with Adviser to the CM, Sharmila Farooqui.
They were assured of the removal hateful wall chalking and banners across the metropolis as well as the withdrawal of police security from the officials of the banned outfits.
