Karachi rally: PTI ready to show political muscle today

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all set to flex its political muscle in Karachi with a rally as part of their by-election campaign in National Assembly constituency NA-246, ARY News reported Sunday.

The by-election in the constituency will be held on April 23. PTI has fielded its leader  Imran Ismail to contest for the seat.

The preparations for the rally have almost been finalized with strong security cover of the police and other law enforcement agencies.

The PTI is holding a public gathering on Shahrah-e-Pakistan, the same spot where MQM staged a mammoth rally on Saturday.

According to PTI sources, party chairman Imran Khan will address the rally at 9pm.

Under the security arrangements, both the tracks of Ayesha Manzil have been blocked. The special unit of police will perform duties at the rally spot. Authorities have also called water cannons to cope with any untoward incident.

PTI leader Ali Zaidi said preparations for the rally have been finalized and all participants are invited at 5pm.
