Karachi: Rangers recover arms cache from Musharraf Colony

KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers have unearthed weapons and munitions hidden underground in Musharraf Colony area of Karachi, ARY News reported on Saturday.

The rangers have unearthed a consignment of weapons buried in Musharraf Colony of the city. The arms included a G-3 and five sub-machine guns (SMGs), a spokesman said.

The rangers personnel on an intelligence tip-off reached Musharraf Colony and started digging the land. They found a consignment of arms and munitions buried underground, spokesman said. The arms included a G-3 rifle, five SMGs and two 8 mm rifles, which were covered in envelopes.

Moreover, 14 magazines and 5000 rounds of various weapons were also recovered.

The arms likely to be used in the incidents of terrorism and targeted killing, the spokesman added.

The law enforcement agencies in a raid on October 5 in Azizabad area of Karachi captured a large consignment of weapons, which according to Governor of Sindh was likely to be used for fighting with the army.
