Karachi temperature may soar to 40°C today

KARACHI: The extreme hot weather continues to plague Karachi denizens for the third consecutive day as met authorities have predicted the temperature could soar to 40 degree celsius today (Friday), ARY News reported.

The city sizzled at 36  °C on Thursday, showing signs of revisiting heatwave that claimed over 1000 lives in the metropolis last year.

The highest maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded in Dadu at 46°C, followed by Jacobabad 45°C, Shaheed  Benazirabad, Moenjodaro, Padidan, Sukkur, Larkana & Rahim Yar Khan 44°C.

According to met office, Mainly hot and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country in next 24 hours. However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Zhob divisions and FATA.

Gusty winds are expected in South Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan during the period.
