Two wounded as signboard falls on a car in Karachi

KARACHI: Two people were wounded after a giant sign board fell on a car and a motorcycle on Karachi’s M.A. Jinnah Road on Friday, ARY News reported.

The incident took place near Gul Plaza on M.A. Jinnah Road when signboard of a private bank fell down and  injured two people.

The incident also left the car and motorcycle damaged. Rescue workers, following the episode, removed the signboard.

The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, on March 11, ordered removal of all billboards and hoardings at public spaces across the city within a month’s time. It said that billboards offer visual clutter and put pedestrians at risk.

Even if a hundred billboards are required to be removed to save a life, then remove them, the apex court had said in its ruling.
