Karachi: Two suspects killed in encounter with Rangers

KARACHI: Rangers personnel gunned down two suspected criminals in an encounter in Karachi, ARY News reported on Friday.

The gunmen opened fire at Rangers personnel during a raid in Musharraf Colony leaving two men of the paramilitary force contingent injured. The law enforcers retaliated the fire and killed the two attackers identified as Saeed Sapera and Arif Mulla.

The slain shooters were said to be gangsters affiliate with a gang operating in Lyari. They were involved in heinous crimes such as murder, attempt to murder and kidnapping for ransom, the law enforcement officials said.

The rangers seized weapons and hand grenades from the slain criminals.

Moreover, three suspects were arrested following an alleged police encounter near Asghar Ali Shah Stadium in North Nazimabad. The law enforcers said that the suspects were roaming in the area with the intention of carrying out crime.

“The suspects opened fire when they were signalled to stop. Three of the gunmen were arrested by police,” officials said.

Meanwhile, police arrested a street criminal from Clifton Block-8 area and seized weapons and a mobile phone.
