Kashmir issue resolution must for long-term peace: COAS

LONDON: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has said Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan are improving and the two countries are working for stability in the region, ARY News reported.

The Army Chief said Kashmir issue has to be resolved for long term peace, stability in the region. Pakistan wants peace, but with dignity and honour.

He stated this while speaking at International Institute for Strategic Studies in London.

The COAS said operation Zarb-e Azb was making good progress with action under way against all terrorists. He underlined that there were no favorites in the operation and all kinds of terrorists were being targeted.

The world needs to understand our environment, he added.

General Sharif said National Action Plan was comprehensive to address extremism and terrorism being implemented, exclusively in collaboration with the government.
