The resolution tabled by KP Information Minister Shah Farman termed the speech as provocative and insulting and called for lodging a treason case against Altaf Hussain under the Article 6 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
“Government should take notice of Hussain’s provocative remarks pertaining to national institutions and sensitive issues,” read the motion.
Members of the KP Assembly also criticized PM Nawaz Sharif over his ‘measured response’ on the statement.
It is the federal government which is responsible of taking notice of the speech and registering a case against the MQM chief for making such a statement, said the resolution.
