KP female teachers start shooting sessions

TANK: Law enforcement agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province have started to train female teachers to operate firearms, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

According to the details, the elite force and counter terrorism force personnel are training the female teachers to operate weapons as a part of security arrangements at schools in the province.

Teachers belonging to 10 educational institutes are being trained in the first phase of the program in Police Lines Peshawar. The first batch will be trained for 3 days.

SSP Operation Peshawar Dr. Mian Muhammad Saeed said in a statement that 10 educational institutes were contacted for training in the first phase and they have been trained voluntarily adding that educators from other institutes will also be trained upon their request.

A number of security measures are being taken amid security threats issued to institutes in the province which recently braced a deadly attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar, killing 149 people mostly children.
