Lady Health Workers call off protest on Sindh CM’s assurance

KARACHI: On assurance of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah to fulfill their demands, Lady Health Workers (LHWs) called off the protest held near the CM House over issue on salaries, ARY News reported.

Murad himself went to the protesting ladies in front of a local hotel near the CM House and assured them to resolve their issue of salaries.

The chief minister was told that the they were protesting because they were not paid their salaries for the last four months. The chief minister ordered finance department to release their funds immediately and pay them salaries.

Murad also directed the health minister and secretary health to activate LHWs and utilize their services for eradication of polio from province.

On his way back to CM House after attending a meeting at Sindh Secretariat, he found the LHWs protesting near PC hotel. He got out of his car and told them that he had released their salaries. Even then the LHWs were not satisfied and wanted to have meeting with the CM to solve their issues.

He invited nine of them to the CM House where he held a meeting with them in the conference room.

The meeting was attended by Health Minister Sindh Dr Sikandar Mendhro, Principal Secretary to CM Naveed Kamran Baloch, Secretary Health Fazal Pechuho and Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi.

The chief minister said he has already released their salaries and their rest of issues like repair of their vehicles, provision of petrol and payment of their salaries in time would be made accordingly.

He directed the secretary health to meet the delegation of LHWs and solve their problems within next three days.
