Since the ghastly Lahore bomb blast on Sunday almost two weeks ago, eleven terrorists have been killed in separate encounters. According to details, the encounter took place at Lahore’s suburban area near Saeed Chowk between suspected terrorists and the counter terrorism department. Six accused were killed in the exchange of fire that took place between suspected militants and police officials.

As per sources from the CTD department, information was received that ten terrorists were present at Talat Park located at Sherakot’s slum area. The terrorists were reportedly planning to carry out attacks against security institutions and high-profile personalities. As CTD raided the area, the suspected terrorists opened fire and as a result of retaliation, CTD officials killed six alleged militants.

According to the police, the suspects belonged to banned militant outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Weapons in large quantity were obtained from the militants which included five kilograms of explosive material, two Kalashnikovs, four pistols, four detonators, three motorcycles and bullets.

Security agencies have started an investigation regarding the matter while CTD is on the hunt for the fugitives. Before this, five terrorists had also been killed in an encounter at Nawab Town.
