Lahore Lions face daunting task against Perth Scorchers to reach semis

BANGALORE: Pakistan’s domestic Twenty20 champions Lahore Lions will be eyeing to snatch the semi-final spot from India’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they take on Australia’s Perth Scorchers in their Champions League T20 encounter on Tuesday (today), ARY News reports.

Lahore Lions has to reach the target set by Perth Scorchers within 15 overs whereas they have to defeat the Australian domestic champions by at least fifty runs in order to knock out Chennai Super Kings from the competition.

It should be noted that the Pakistani team had qualified for the main draw on net run rate as well.

India’s T20 champions Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab and Australia’s Hobart Hurricanes have already qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League T20.

Lahore Lions (Squad): Mohammad Hafeez (captain), Adnan Rasool, Agha Salman, Ahmed Shehzad, Aizaz Cheema, Ali Manzoor, Asif Raza, Imran Ali, Mohammad Saeed, Mustafa Iqbal, Nasir Jamshed, Saad Nasim, Umar Akmal, Umar Siddiq and Wahab Riaz.

Perth Scorchers (Squad): Adam Voges (captain), Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Michael Beer, Jason Behrendorff, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Brad Hogg, Simon Mackin, Mitchell Marsh, Joel Paris, Craig Simmons, Ashton Turner, Sam Whiteman and Yasir Arafat.
