Lahore Qalandars secure first PSL win against Quetta Gladiators

DUBAI: Lahore Qalandars on Monday secured first victory in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) against Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs after setting up the highest total in the event so far, ARY News reported.

Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and went for fielding.

Opening batsmen provided 62 runs start to Lahore Qalandars, followed by Umar Akmal and Cameron Delport’s brilliant show who scored 95 runs in seven overs.

Akmal’s 93, and Delport’s 73 runs helped Qalandars set up the highest total of the PSL so far – 194 runs.

On the other hand, openers of Quetta Gladiators flopped for the first time, nor could Pietersen perform well.

Sarfraz and Muhammad Nawaz resisted for a while, but they too were dismissed following which the Gladiators lost wickets back-to-back.

Quetta Gladiators were all dismissed at 131 runs without having played 20 overs.

Umar Akmal received ‘Man of the Match’ as he played a brilliant 93-run innings off 40 balls.
