ECP, in a letter to Secretary of Local Government Punjab, has stated that it is the responsibility of the province to hold LB Elections therefore the details of the Union Councils (UCs), wards and the maps of the province should be provided.
It has also instructed the provincial election commission to provide the details as soon as possible for delimitation of the new constituencies.
Sources have stated that the formation of the constituencies will take upto six months and the elections will not take place before July 2015.
On the other hand, local bodies polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will take place in March 2015 after delimitation of the constituencies.
