LEAs foil terror bid in Sukkur

SUKKUR: Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Friday foiled a terror bid as large number of weapons were recovered in Sukkur as it was being smuggled from Peshawar to Karachi, ARY News reports.

Two people have also been arrested and investigation is underway.

SSP Sukkur Tanvir Tunio said that ammunition was being smuggled to Karachi to carry out a terrorist attack in the city. He added that the weapons were hidden in a CNG cylinder of a vehicle.

Rocket launcher, machine gun, four repeaters, grenade and other kind of weapons were captured by the security forces.

Tunio further added that the investigation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro’s murder has been completed by 90 percent.

He added that the suspects will soon be exposed.
