Leonardo DiCaprio to play 24 different roles in one movie!
Yes, you heard us correct. Not one, six, a dozen but two dozen different roles in one single movie!
Leo will play the real-life character of Billy Milligan, an Ohio felon who had himself acquitted by plea on account of using multiple personality disorder, as his defense in court. He was charged with two rapes and a robbery, which he successfully avoided on basis of insanity in Ohio, in the 1070’s.
Leonardo DiCaprio, regarded as arguably the greatest actor in Hollywood currently, has given multiple back-to-back hits such as Blood Diamond, Shutter Island, Inception, The Departed, The Great Gatsby and The Wolf Of Wall Street. Yet, strangely the star has so far been denied from winning a single Oscar award for his stellar performances. Leo lost to Matthew Mcconnaughey for the Aacademy Award for Best Actor in the 86th Academy Awards.
The Crowded Room will be based on Daniel Keyes’ 1981 book “The Minds of Billy Milligan” and will be produced by DiCaprio’s own Appian Way. Leo has had his eye on the project since 1997 and was attempting to book his role in this movie ever since. Leonardo has been praised for his stellar acting and diverse roles in the past with an array of critically appreciated films such as Titanic, Blood Diamond, The Wolf Of Wall Street and Django Unchained. In Titanic, Leonardo played Jack, a young, broke man who falls in love with a rich woman aboard the ill-fated Titanic. In Blood Diamond, he had to master a South African accent and impressed everyone with his convincing act. In Django Unchained, he played the role of a sly and ruthlessly cruel slave owner who mistreated his slaves. Lastly, The Wolf Of Wall Street featured him in a very prominent role as a stock market fraud who swindled people out of their money to become a financial tycoon.
Whilst we do admit that portraying 24 different roles will be difficult even for someone like Leonardo to carry on his shoulders. Yet, who knows, this might be the ticket to his very first Oscar win!
