Hearing for the Ayyan Ali bail petition commenced at the Lahore High Court today. The hearing took place in the presence of Justice Abdul Sami Khan and Ayyan’s legal counsel Latif Khosa defended the supermodel, stating that she never intended to fly out of the country. Khosa argued that allegations of money laundering against Ayyan were unfounded and baseless. He also argued that the money laundering case was registered on Ayyan, based on trumped up charges.

Khosa elaborated that Ayyan Ali had not obtained a boarding pass neither had her passport been stamped with the international exit seal. He also argued that custom authorities had violated legal course of action and registered a baseless case pertaining to money laundering against Ayyan.

He further said that due to the the absence of Customs bench at the High Court’s Rawalpindi bench, the bail plea had been transferred to Principal Seat. He further said that the allegations leveled at Ayyan were absolutely baseless and that bail should be granted, on account of insufficient witnesses and evidence.

On this, the court sent a notice to the custom authorities and demanded a response.
