LHC restrains Punjab Food Authority from advertising raids on Facebook

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has barred the Punjab Food Authority from advertising its raids on top social media website ‘Facebook’, while passing passing a order on a petition filed by Restaurents Association.

The court also issued notices to the Punjab Government the PFA to submit their replies by October 20 in this connection.

Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh issued the order

The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the PFA was conducting raids on restaurants and bakeries to check hygiene standards. He said the authority publicised these raids on social media, contending that “the identity of the violators should not be revealed till they are found guilty by a court,” he added.
