Imran Khan asks PM Nawaz to step down
Imran Khan, in his “address to the nation” on Sunday, saud that Prime Minister is facing five main accusations which include tax-evasion, money laundering and corruption. He added that our rulers are the ones who send the nation’s money to offshore accounts.
“Those with offshore accounts in the country have been exposed,” Khan said.
“There is no need for further investigations as there are evidences against the Premier,” he added.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman said that he had referred to Almighty Allah as the umpire during his party’s sit-in at Islamabad’s D-Chowk.
Khan added that, “God is the umpire and his finger has gone up. No Pakistani had revealed the offshore accounts. It is by nature itself.”
“Today is a decisive moment for the country. He said the country is heading towards destruction and everyone has to struggle,” Khan said.
“The Panama Leaks have given us a chance to improve the situation.”
He asked if the job of the federal ministers is to hide the corruption of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He added that PM did not declare his assets and could be imprisoned over it.
“Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had confessed how he laundered money out of Pakistan. Who will bring the money kept in offshore accounts back into the country” Khan asked.
He said that there are cells of various international organizations which recover laundered money.
He asked that how PM will hold inquiry against himself when he himself can’t even “play on a neutral pitch”.
Imran Khan said that this is not the Pakistan for which millions sacrificed their lives and PM Nawaz Sharif wants to become the Mughal-e-Azam of the country.
He added that protests are taking place in London over UK Prime Minister David Cameron paying less taxes.
He demanded the Prime Minister to form an independent accountability commission under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge which includes an expert who investigates white collar crime.
