PSL 2017: Zalmi beats Karachi Kings in low-scoring match

DUBAI: Peshawar Zalmi beat Karachi Kings by 7 wickets in the third match of Pakistan Super League 2017 in Dubai Cricket Stadium, ARY News reported on Saturday.

Zalmi won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Kumar Sangakkara led Karachi Kings put 118 runs on board in their innings over the loss of 7 wickets. Shoaib Malik and Bopara remained top scorers with 44 and 33 runs respectively.

As Zalmi started their chase, they too lost two of their wickers in quick succession as Mohammad Amir removed Hafeez and Sohail Khan sent Kamran Akmal to pavilion.

Malan and Morgan kept the scoreboard ticking but not for too long, as Malan lost his wicket to Imad Wasim as Babar Azam took a stunning catch.

The joy was short lived as Karachi Kings could not take another wicket  and Morgan, with his 80 runs knock, took Peshawar Zalmi easily took Zalmi to victory in the 19th over.

Morgan was given the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

On the third day of the PSL, title-holders Islamabad United will face Lahore Qalandars.
