Hafeez, Imad help Pakistan beat SL in World T20 warm up match

Pakistan, opting to bat first, scored 157/5 in their 20 overs thanks to an unbeaten half century by Mohammad Hafeez.

Hafeez remained not out at 70 runs from 49 balls which included nine boundaries and a six.

Sharjeel Khan contributed 23 runs from 21 balls with two fours and two sixes to his name. Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad made 19 and 18 runs respectively for the side.

Thisara Parera grabbed two wickets which Sachithra Senanayake, Rangana Herath and Dushmantha Chameera dismissed one batsman each.

Sri Lankan side fell 15 runs short of the target as the side managed 142/9 in their 20 overs.

Lahiru Thirimanne was the top scorer for the team as he made 45 runs from 37 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.

Dinesh Chandimal struck 30 runs from 21 balls with five fours and a six to his name.

Chamara Kapugedara and Dasun Shanaka contributed 14 and 13 runs respectively in the team’s run chase while skipper Angelo Mathews along with Sachithra Senanayake made 10 runs each for the side.

Imad Wasim was the stand up out bowler for green shirts as he picked four wickets after conceding 25 runs in his alloted over while Mohammad Irfan got two wickets as well.
