West Indies edge past Pakistan in Women’s World T20

Pakistan won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first in the match. The Caribbean side managed 103/8 in their 20 overs.

WI skipper Stefanie Taylor was the stand out batswoman for the team as she made 40 runs from 54 balls after hitting four boundaries.

Merissa Aguilleira and Hayley Matthews scored 15 runs each.

Pakistan’s Anam Amin was the pick of the bowlers as she took four wickets in her four overs and conceded just 16 runs. Sadia Yousuf dismissed two West Indies’ batswomen as well.

The green shirts, chasing 104 runs to win, managed 99/5 in their 20 overs.

Bismah Maroof was the highest scorer as she made 22 runs from 30 balls with a boundary to her name while Sidra Ameen made 20 runs from 27 balls with two fours.

Asmavia Iqbal and skipper Sana Mir made 19 and 18 runs respectively in the run chase.

Anisa Mohammed took three wickets while Shaquanna Quintyne and Dendra Dottin also grabbed a wicket.
