London Police release MQM’s Mohammad Anwar

LONDON: London Metropolitan Police has released senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Mohammad Anwar on bail after interrogating him for seven hours, ARY News reported.

London Metropolitan Police had arrested Anwar earlier today on suspicion of money laundering. Officials also searched out the residence of Anwar for almost 13 hours.

The MQM leader has been released on police bail till mid of July.

According to the London Police, Mohammad Anwar is not permitted to leave the United Kingdom (UK), while he can be summoned anytime for the sake of investigation into the matter.

Police searched out his residence for almost 13 hours, however it was not disclosed whether the officials found any evidences from there.

London Police also sought the assistance of forensic experts during the house search.

Police also questioned the MQM leader for seven hours, however he was released an hour after providing a lawyer to him.
