Malala terms APS victims as national heroes

PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Nobel peace prize winner Malala Yousufzai has said that the martyrs and the injured of Peshawar’s Army Public School are national heroes, ARY News reports on Monday.

Malala Yousufzai telephoned APS attack injured Ahmad Nawaz and inquired about his health.

Her father Ziauddin Yousufzai ensured Nawaz and his family that he will be welcomed on their arrival in London for treatment and will be fully supported.

“The victims of the APS attack are national heroes who have given a historic sacrifice for education. We pray to Allah for the speedy recovery of those wounded in the attack”, she said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had approved Rs 36 million aid for Ahmed Nawaz’s medical treatment abroad. He is currently being treated at Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital.

Ahmed’s brother Haris was killed in terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar on December 16, which claimed around 150 lives most of them schoolchildren.
