The Adviser while welcoming the visiting Maldives Minister and her delegation said that Pakistan would like to develop cooperation in the tourism sector of the country, Spokesman of the foreign office said in a statement. He said that the development of shipping lines between the two countries holds a lot of importance and efforts should be made in this respect.
He emphasized the need to follow up on the MoUs/Agreements in the fields of Sports, Health, Education, and Narcotics, which were signed during the visit of the President of the Maldives to Pakistan in May last year.
The visiting minister stressed the need to further strengthen bilateral relations by promoting people to people contacts. She said that exchange of students, artists, and other professionals will foster goodwill among the people of the two countries.
Maldives minister also called on to the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi.
The Special Assistant highlighted the need for both countries to enhance the economic and trade relations. The two officials also agreed for development of communication links for enhancing the bilateral trade.
