Man killed, woman injured in Malir grenade attack

KARACHI: A man was killed and a woman injured in a grenade attack in Malir area of megapolis on Monday evening, ARY News reported.

According to details, the attack took place in Malir City Mona Ground area when unknown attackers riding on motorbikes lobbed a hand grenade and injured two people including a woman.

They were both rushed to a hospital, however the man succumbed to his wounds.

The deceased was identified as Jahanzeb.

However, the identity of perpetrators and the motive of attack could not be ascertained as of yet.

This was the second grenade attack on same place, first one took place nearly six months ago.

Police said they have kicked off investigations into the attack.

Traffic police on ‘target’

On the other hand, two personnel of Karachi traffic police were injured in a firing incident at Mai Kolachi Road.

Unknown attackers riding on motorbikes fired at duty personnel and fled the scene.

Both the injured personnel were not armed.

This was reportedly the fifth attack on Karachi traffic police.

On the whole, two traffic cops have been killed and three injured in Karachi in the month of September.
