According to police, the incident took place at the old KDA building of the Sindh Secretariat inside the office of an Adviser to CM for Labour, Asghar Ali Junejo.
An employee of the secretariat named Shaukat opened fire and killed Riasat Ali after a scuffle broke out between them over a personal dispute.
Police and Rangers reached the scene and arrested the main suspect and recovered the weapon used in the killing. They said that investigations are underway to determine how the weapon was taken inside the Sindh Secretariat.
The body of the deceased has been sent to hospital for medico-legal proceedings. The incident is seen as a serious security lapse in sensitive government installations and buildings across the province.

The anchor along with a team member was arrested in the wake of the sting operation they conducted to highlight security loopholes. A court released Iqrar a day after his arrest, while his team member was freed on Wednesday morning.
