The traditional cuisine of Chitral is very popular and it is recognized globally for its exceptional taste. NCCB organized a 12 days cooking training session for Chitrali females under the supervision of second prize winner of master Chef Pakistan Gulnaz. The participants were given training not only for traditional chitrali cuisines but they also learned skills from the chef in continental, Thai, Chinese, Afghani, Kashmiri and Fast food.
Gulnaz who is spreading her cooking skills in Chitral, is the first runner up of first ever Master Chef Pakistan 2014, which is a franchise of popular global television show Master Chef. Gulnaz is a housewife from Chitral, who was one of the show’s most endearing characters as she excelled in the traditional and continental cuisines but her strength was the knowledge of Chitrali cuisine. Gul Naz also got 1,000,000 cash prize for winning the second position in Master Chef Pakistan show.
While addressing the event, the managing director of NCCB said that his organization is working on different projects for the welfare of people that includes, adult education centers, promotion of trout fish industry, facilitation of local people, providing plots to local people in easy installments and training women in different professional fields including cooking. He further said that NCCB will work for the development and progress of Chitrali people till the end.
Member of national assembly Saleem Khan also attended the event and distributed prizes among the winners.
