KARACHI: Authorities have temporarily closed the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam for security reasons, especially in the wake of deadly attack at a shrine in Sehwan Sharif killing at least 80 people, ARY News reported.

Additional police contingent has also been deployed at the place to ensure security to the historical place thronged by hundreds of family almost on daily basis.

Reports said the mausoleum has been shut for two days in view of looming threats. It will reopen after the said period, authorities

The bombing at the famed Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in Sehwan Sharif was Pakistan’s deadliest attack in two years, killing at least 80 people and underlining the threat of militant groups like the Pakistani Taliban and Islamic State.

The bombings over five days have hit all four provinces and two major cities, killing nearly 100 people and shaking a nascent sense that the worst of the country’s militant violence may be in the past.
