Wathra, in a media briefing, said that the anchor persons have falsely reported the statistics on economic development mentioned in a report that was issued in June.
“It took three years to recover the national economy and international media has acknowledged it as well,” he said.
Wathra said that the local media has interpreted the reasons of fall in remittances in the wrong way. “The reason of decline in remittances in the previous fiscal year was due to more holidays,” he said.
He claimed that the media presented the wrong data regarding debts and loans.
The central bank governor stated that law and order has improved in the country, whereas, investment in the private sector has moved upward which will create jobs and provide employment to youth.
