The met office spokesman has said that good monsoon currents are likely to penetrate in upper and central parts of the country in next 48 hrs.
Rain or thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places in Islamabad, Punjab, FATA, KP and Kashmir from Tuesday to Thursday, weather forecast said.
Rainfall with thunderstorm is also expected at isolated places of Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh and eastern parts of Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Kalat divisions) during the period.
Likely heavy downpour may cause flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, KP, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
Seasonal low lies over north-Balochistan and its adjoining area with its trough extending south eastward, the forecast said.
Light rainfall is also expected along Sindh and Makran coastal areas.
