Religious leaders of all the faiths must play their role in this regard, he said while addressing the All Parties Conference organised by Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) in Islamabad.
He said all the religious leaders must promote harmony among different religions.
The minister said not only Muslims but followers of all the religions have strongly condemned the publication of blasphemous caricatures against Islam. “We have gathered to condemn the shameful act of French cartoonist and express and share our feelings,” he added.
Rasheed thanked Pope Francis for supporting the stance of the Muslims and said that a delegation from Pakistan should visit Vatican City and meet with the Pope to thank him.
