ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has emphasized the need for evidence-based policy making to ensure maximum impact of public investment.
He expressed these views while chairing 10th meeting of Senate Pakistan Institute of Development Economics in Islamabad.
Ahsan Iqbal said that goal of the incumbent government is to transform the fields of development and economics into a leading think tank.
He said that PIDE should build linkages with international scholars and produce cutting-edge research for the country and region.
The meeting was briefed about different regional linkage projects including CPEC research centre of excellence, ECO regional trade to generate policy relevant research.
