Minister takes exception to Imran for PM-bashing

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has rejected the allegation of PTI chief Imran Khan regarding Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s secret meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Minister said there was no need for the Prime Minister to meet secretly as both the prime ministers had met each other at different occasions in front of media.

Information Minister said it was impossible for any Prime Minister to meet another secretly as they lead a delegation and have very tight schedule.

As reports of Nawaz-Modi secret meeting started doing rounds in the local media, Pakistan government issued a statement saying such reports were “baseless, malicious and concocted.”

It said despite the clarification, some sections of media were continuing to air the ‘false news.’
