‘Influential family’ unleashes dogs on four year old girl in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA: A four-year-old girl was severely injured on Friday after being mauled by vicious dogs unleashed by some “influential” locals in Gujranwala district of Punjab , ARY News reported.
The girl is the daughter of a labourer, Basheer Ahmed, from Bodlawala near Gujranwala city. The incident reportedly occurred in retribution after a minor dispute between children, for which her parents alleged that their daughter was “punished”.
She was under treatment at Civil Hospital in Gujranwala but was later shifted to Lahore. Doctors said that she suffered severe injuries to her head and face and remains in critical condition.
The government of Punjab has taken notice of the heart-wrenching incident. Punjab Human Rights minister has called for complete treatment of the minor girl, and the perpetrators to be given an exemplary punishment.
