LAHORE: Pakistan Test Captain Misbah-ul-Haq is returning back home from New Zealand due to the death of his father in law, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced.
Chairman PCB Shahryar Khan has also announced that Azhar Ali will lead the team in the second Test in his place.
Pakistan lost the first Test against New Zealand by 8 wickets in Christchurch. This was a milestone match for Misbah as he became the first Pakistan player to captain 50 Test matches.
Mishah’s wife also confirmed the news on Twitter and asked everyone for prayers for her father. She confirmed that Misbah would be returning from New Zealand.
