Sartaj Aziz, addressing the Senate on Wednesday morning, said that India is not eligible to become a member of the UN Security Council.

“India violated human rights in 1971 and is still violating them today in Kashmir”, Aziz said.

He added that Modi’s statements regarding India’s role in the events of 1971 reflect the country’s negative attitude towards Pakistan. He added that a conspiracy is being plotted to foil hatred between the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

“The people of Pakistan and Bangladesh are connected together through strong religious beliefs”, he said.

The prime minister’s advisor also said that Pakistan wants good and friendly ties with all of its neighbouring countries.
