MQM chief assures workers of a convincing NA-246 victory

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Monday said that rivals can compete with us in NA-246 by-polls but they will be defeated, ARY News reported.

Speaking to his party workers during a music festival organised in Jinnah Ground, Hussain said that he has seen the rallies and gatherings of other parties too but none can be compared with the love his brothers and sisters have shown for him (Altaf Hussain).

He again instructed  his workers to exercise restraint by saying that party workers shall not react to indecent tactics used by opponents.

“This is your constituency and to keep it at peace is your responsibility”, said Hussain.

Hussain asked workers to remove their camp if they see an opponent’s rally coming towards it and lend a deaf ear to criticism by opponents.

MQM chief further advised his party  leaders to use ‘decent’ language in their speeches during corner meetings and rallies.

The NA-246 constituency of Karachi will witness a by-poll on April 23 as the seat fell vacant after Nabil Gabol who was elected on the ticket of MQM in the 2013 general elections resigned from his seat after developing differences with the party.

A number of candidates are participating in the election with the most notable candidates being MQM’s Kunwar Naveed Jamil, PTI’s Imran Ismail and JI’s Rashid Nasim. The by-polls are due to be held on April 23, 2015.
