MQM clamours for resignation of Governor Sindh

“We do not consider Dr. Ibad as member of the MQM,” said Farooq Sattar while addressing a press conference at party headquarters Nine Zero.

He expressed concerns that law enforcement were singling out Muhajirs in Karachi operating and targeting the specific community.

The MQM leader said the prime minister had promised formation of monitoring committee for Karachi operation, but it never materialized.

Flanked by senior party leaders including Haider Abbas Rizvi, he said Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad had failed in formation of such a committee. “Governor turned a deaf year to all MQM appeals and the oppressions being carried out against party workers.”

He went on to say that operation is being carried out in Karachi “wipe out MQM’s political existence and role”.

The MQM leader bemoaned that law enforcers raided MQM offices in the name of operation. “This is an attempt to reduce our political space and role,” he menioned.

Sattar said workers of the party were being falsely named in different cases.
