MQM forms Supreme Council for “people’s guidance”

KARACHI: The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has constituted a Supreme Council aimed at guiding party’s powerful Rabita Committee (coordination committee) for guidance of people in ’emergency sitautions’, ARY News reported.

Sources told that the Council also aims to function in case of non-availability of party chief Altaf Hussain.

According to a late-night MQM statement, the decision to this effect was taken by MQM supremo Altaf Hussain during a meeting.

The meeting appointed Nadim Nusrat Convener of the Coordination Committee on permanent basis.

Supreme Council would consist of Kanwar Navid, Rauf Siddiqui, Babar Ghori, Kishwar Zehra, , Nadim Nusrat, Nasrin Jalil, Farooq Sattar, Farogh Nasim and Iftikhar Hussain.

The meeting also reviewed party’s organizational affairs and status of cases being faced by the leadership in London.
