MQM holds talks with government over resignations

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) led by Dr Farooq Sattar reached Punjab House for talks with government over resignations from the Parliament, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The talks between MQM and the government team led by federal minister Ishaq Dar has been underway to discuss formation of a committee to address the grievances of the party.

The MQM delegation comprises of Dr Farooq Sattar, Waseem Akhtar, Barrister Saif, Kanwar Naveed and others.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday had announced that after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s decision to form a committee to address the MQM grievances, the party had agreed to review its decision to resign from Parliament.

He said the committee will be comprised of the lawmakers of the government and other political parties and a time frame will be decided when the committee will be constituted.
