According MQM statement, the terrorists targeted Abbas in Rahim Gali while he was returning from Imam Bargah after offering prayer.

The killing of the party leader also drew strong condemnation from the MQM chief Altaf Hussain who said “such cowardly act will neither deter MQM from spreading its political philosophy in Punjab nor will it scare off the people of the province to support his party.”
