MQM leader Shoaib Bukhari passes away

KARACHI: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Shoaib Bukhari passed away at the age of 72 on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

MQM’s Amin-ul-Haq, speaking to ARY News stated that Shoaib Bukhari was feeling unwell for quite some time and passed away today.

Haq said that the deceased stuck with the party through thick and thin. He said that Bukhari had started his political career from Karachi’s Liaquatabad area.

His funeral prayers will be offered on Tuesday evening after Isha prayers in Liaquatabad, he added.

Shoaib Bukhari was born on 20th February, 1944 in Indian city of Ahmedabad. He acquired his LLB degree from Karachi University.

He contested the 2002 general elections on the ticket of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and emerged victorious. He served as Sindh’s Planning and Development minister from 2002 till 2007
