MQM to observe ‘day of mourning’ tomorrow

KARACHI: The Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced ‘day of mourning’ on Thursday in Karachi against killing of its worker, ARY News reported.

Talking to media here, MQM leader Khwaja Izharul Hassan appealed the transporters and traders to keep their businesses off on Thursday.

Izhar said their activist Sohail Ahmed was associated with the MQM for last 25 years. He said the body of Ahmed was abandoned in an area within the jurisdiction of Mochko Police Station.

He said post-mortem report revealed that Ahmed was murdered. The slain MQM worker sustained two bullet wounds in his chest, said Izhar.

Though, the MQM leader said his party had complete trust in Rangers and police.

He slammed the Sindh government for failing to take measures to protect MQM workers. We even rose voiced in the Sindh Assembly for recovery of Sohail Ahmed, but to no avail, regretted Izharul Hasan.
